FAQ

Can you describe Africa Digital Solutions in a few words?

Africa Digital Solutions was created to meet growing needs in the sector of telecommunications and new technologies. We actively contribute to advancing and structuring telecommunications and connectivity in Africa: the best networks and the most innovative applications. Africa Digital Solutions brings in a new offer to design and supervise integrated projects – from connectivity infrastructure to application solutions. We operate mainly in 3 areas:

  • uses for connected citizens
  • governance and smart administration
  • smart connectivity infrastructure.

What is your focus: infrastructures ou apps?

Both! Africa Digital Solutions brings in a new offer to design and supervise integrated projects – from connectivity infrastructure to application solutions. We operate mainly in 3 areas:

  • uses for connected citizens
  • governance and smart administration
  • smart connectivity infrastructure.

We are able to intervene only at certain stages of a given project – yet our ability to manage from A to Z complex integrated projects is an asset for our clients. An integrated approach is also a guarantee of greater quality: that is our conviction. The infrastructure is sized according to needs, for an even greater impact in terms of quality of both the connectivity network and associated services.

Who is behind Africa Digital Solutions?

Africa Digital Solutions is currently a private company, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Africa Development Solutions managed by Samba Bathily. Being part of this pan-African group enables us to envisage synergies with other sister companies, especially for the development of application solutions.

What are your flagship projects?

The implementation of the West African Digital Pool is a good illustration of our capabilities: it is a pioneering project, the first step in the Single Africa Digital Market imagined under the aegis of the Smart Africa Alliance, and which aims to interconnect the optic fibre networks of 7 countries in West Africa – Guinea-Conakry, Mali, Sierra-Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea Bissau.

What is your turnover?

Our key figures are confidential and available to our shareholders only. However, we can indicate that Africa Digital Solutions is currently overseeing a connectivity infrastructure network worth several hundreds of million dollars.

What are your countries of operations?

Our ambition is pan-African. We started operations in 2019 and are already present after one year in the following countries: Mali, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone and Senegal.

What is your added value for the governments and populations of Africa?

Public authorities or companies that call on us in Africa are looking for “turnkey” solutions enabling them to leverage new technologies for their development – which often requires more than connectivity, but also public service centres, distance learning systems, or the development of telemedicine, etc. We think big and bold, we are forward-looking experts, we work to offer a better African living experience.

How do your partnerships with large international groups work?

We seek to source the best expertise and bring it to Africa – our approach is definitely not “cut and paste” – instead we want to adjust to the realities of the continent. Our partners know that we are there to challenge them, sometimes asking them to think or design differently in order to obtain, on the ground, solutions that are truly adapted to the needs. In the long term, our objective is to support the development of skills, technical and human capacities in order to structure a high-performance and ambitious telecommunications industry and technical ecosystem in Africa.
